The St. Vincent CMI Residential School, situated in the heart of Pala, is a residential educational institution owned by the Chavara Educational and Charitable Trust and managed by the CMI Congregation of the Kottayam Province under the Syro-Malabar Church. Drawing inspiration from St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a great visionary and social reformer of the 18th century, the school endeavors to provide value based quality education to the students near and far.

Established in the academic year 2005-2006,the St Vincent CMI Residential School started with the pre-primary (LKG & UKG) section on the pristinecampus in the unpolluted and tranquil locale of Pala.With a total strength of 139 students, the School commenced the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations' curriculum in June 2005. Fr. Modest Purathayil CMI was the initiating manager and Fr. Gigi ManuelPookulam CMI,followed by Mrs. Asha Mathew was the initiating principals of the school. Fr. FigiNaduvilatharayil CMI took over as the principal of the school from the academic year 2008-2009 and he served till 2013-2014.

On 18th July 2013, the school was provisionally affiliated by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (CISCE, KE139).The school showcases 100 percent results since its first batch of ICSE Grade X in March/April 2014. The school is headed by the eminent educationalists and visionaries Fr. Zacharias Kalappurackal CMI, Manager, Fr. Philip Nechikkattil CMI, Principal and Fr. Bastian Mangalathil CMI, Financial Administrator.

The School opens its portal to anyone devoid of caste, color, creed or gender. It is fully equipped with the state-of-the art facilities to empower the children of today to confront effectively the challenges in the global arena. The students are given personal attention and every effort is made to draw out the best in them. Being an institution of a religious minority community, the school labors to impart values through education. The school stands for excellence in the academic, spiritual and moral formation of the students and ensures their holistic development. The school provides enrichment programs to the meritorious students and offers special coaching to the promising students. The students are spurred to go all-out to achieve the set goals and realize the real spirit of the maxim of the school. The school also offers counseling facilities as well as career guidance. It also arranges various programs to help students nurture and polish their creative and artistic talents.

To give individual attention to each and every child, we have taken care to ensure that the strength of each class is restricted to 30 to 35. To kindle the creative energies of students and to inculcate in them a scientific attitude, innovative projects are given to all students starting from LKG. Fully dedicated weekly library hours are offered to the students from primary to high school level. Highly experienced teachers/trainers are taking care of our Montessori section including play school. The students are getting trained in the exclusively dedicated Montessori labs.

The entire student community actively participates in the co-curricular activities on a weekly basis as part of their curriculum. The Shackleton Club (Science), The Diogenes Club (Debate), The Quizzers Club (Quiz), The Globetrotters Club (Social Science), The Natura Club (Nature), The Anglophenia Club (English) are all contributing heavily to uplift and refine the St Vincent students in the right path of success. Apart from the club activities,the school gives the students opportunities to compete among themselves on the basis of four houses. Green House, Red House, Yellow House & Blue House are enriched with multitalented student personalities calibrated by efficient teachers and special trainers.

Special emphasis is given to spoken English in the right sense with out-and-out coaching for Communicative English, and Accent Training (phonetics & pronunciation) on weekly basis. Focusing more on the confidence building measures and in order to enhance the level of English for the student community, role plays, skits, anchoring and seminars are incorporated into the English Language training programs.

A fast developing library with resources both in English, Hindi and Malayalam that cater to different tastes and abilities is certainly another attractive feature of the school. With more than 5000 books in different categories and 5 dailies along with a number of informatory journals and magazines constitute to the assets of the library. Keeping a record of all the SANVIN activities, the vigorous student community in participation with the school editorial board brings out the school manuscript, 'VINdows' annually.The school editorial board engages the literary and artistic labor of 'Laurea', the annual magazine of St Vincent CMI Residential School and 'Vincentimes' the chronicles.

The school campus has been meticulously designed and incorporates the most modem infrastructure with several novel features including e-learning facility to provide students with the best possible environment both, indoor and outdoor, conducive for the attainment of all round excellence in scholastics, sports and extracurricular activities.

The school gives importance to both physical and mental well-being of the students. The school provides ample opportunities for the students in sports and games as well. A dedicated physical education department takes care of the student's tastes in basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, tabletennis, cricket, athletics, and swimming. All outdoor and indoor sports and games are compulsory for both boys and girls in St Vincent CMI Residential School. Considerable importance is given to the development of essential life skills, character building, personality, leadership qualities and public speaking skills of the students. Parents and teachers are also given adequate training modules on regular intervals to update and support the student community.

The school also offers service of a medical officer and an assistant with a full-fledged infirmary on emergency situations. Student personal counseling sessions are also offered for the students on a regular basis and are conducted by eminent counselors of high repute.
